Inside the 2026 Cobble Beach Concours d’Elegance: Cars, Culture & the Weekend Recap

For the fourth consecutive year, SoViolette returned to the Cobble Beach Concours d’Elegance in Owen Sound, Ontario ; one of the most anticipated automotive weekends of the season.

Set against the beautiful backdrop of Georgian Bay, Cobble Beach is about far more than a single day of beautiful cars.

The annual Cobble Beach Concours d’Elegance is the culmination of an entire weekend celebrating automotive history, design, craftsmanship and the people behind the machines.

From the Tour d’Elegance and downtown Cars & Coffee to automotive seminars, special exhibitions and the main Concours on Sunday, there is something happening throughout the weekend for anyone with an appreciation for cars and automotive culture.

More Than Just a Sunday Car Show

One of the things that makes the Cobble Beach Concours d’Elegance special is everything that happens before Sunday.

The weekend brings automotive culture into Owen Sound, giving enthusiasts the opportunity to see collector cars outside of the formal Concours setting such as The Oblivion Avenue, showcasing some cars from the 80’s & 90’s, and The Tour d’Elegance bringing cars onto the scenic roads of Grey Bruce, while Saturday’s Cars & Coffee offers a more relaxed gathering in downtown Owen Sound.

Sunday at the Cobble Beach Concours d’Elegance

Then comes Sunday, the main event.

Overlooking Georgian Bay, the 2026 Cobble Beach Concours d’Elegance brought together an impressive collection of automobiles spanning more than a century of design and engineering.

From pre-war classics and American icons to modern supercars, the show field offered a fascinating look at how the automobile has evolved, and how these remarkable cars continue to inspire the future.

Winning Category Highlights

1932 Rohr 8 Type F Streamliner

The 1932 Rohr 8 Type F Streamliner was one of the weekend’s true standouts, taking home Best of Show as well as People’s Choice.

With its Art Deco design and extraordinary history, the Rohr is the kind of car that stops you in your tracks ; a beautiful example of just how ambitious automotive design could be in the 1930s.

1937 Mercedes-Benz 540K Sport Cabriolet

The 1937 Mercedes-Benz 540K Sport Cabriolet, which received Outstanding Pre-war and won the Mercedes-Benz Icons class.

After attending the Mercedes-Benz heritage seminar earlier in the weekend, seeing this remarkable pre-war Mercedes on the show field made for a fitting connection between the marque’s past and present.

1961 Chevrolet Corvette Mako Shark I

The 1961 Chevrolet Corvette Mako Shark I brought an entirely different kind of history to the field. Created as a vision for the future of Corvette design, its dramatic styling remains just as striking today.

The Mako Shark I received the Outstanding Sport Car award at this year’s Concours.

Mercedes-AMG One

At the opposite end of the automotive timeline was the Mercedes-AMG One , a road-going hypercar bringing Formula 1-inspired technology to the street.

Seeing it alongside cars from the 1930s and 1960s was a perfect reminder that automotive history is still being written.

More Than Beautiful Cars

What makes Cobble Beach special is that these aren’t simply beautiful cars to look at. They represent decades of creativity, engineering and imagination and offer the next generation a glimpse of where automotive design can go next.

Women in Motion Category

The 2026 Cobble Beach Concours also celebrated women in the automotive community with a selection of women-owned cars. Among them was a striking pink 1957 Monarch, finished with black and pink accents.

Amongst the category, there was Kate’s 1994 right-hand-drive Toyota Supra, a Japanese performance icon with plenty of personality. It was a great reminder that collector-car culture continues to bring together enthusiasts with very different stories, styles and connections to their cars.

Kate drove her Supra from Ottawa and regularly brings it to events supporting various fundraisers. The purple heart on her car represents Driving for Darren, a mental-health cause that is personally meaningful to her. She also mentionned : “I try to do as much work on the car myself as I can”.

The Trophies Take Centre Stage

As the afternoon came to a close, the energy shifted toward the awards presentation, and the cars themselves took centre stage.

The Judges

One by one, the winning automobiles rolled onto the awards platform as their owners were recognized for everything from craftsmanship and historical significance to elegance and innovation. Seeing these incredible cars drive across the stage, surrounded by spectators overlooking Georgian Bay, was a fitting finale to the day.

With the top three cars in each class making their way across the stage, the awards ceremony offered one last opportunity to see these remarkable automobiles in motion before the weekend came to a close.

From class winners to the major honours, including Outstanding Pre-war, Outstanding Post-war and Best of Show, the trophy presentation was a celebration of the people, history and passion behind each automobile.

From rare cars to beautiful scenery, Cobble Beach Concours d’Elegance remains one of our favourite ways to close out Ontario’s outdoor car-event season.

Automotive Art Meets the Concours

The creativity at Cobble Beach extended beyond the cars. Jay Koka, the official automotive lead artist for the Concours, was on hand showcasing his distinctive automotive artwork. Koka has created the official Cobble Beach posters and is an established automotive artist whose work blends realism and impressionism.

Also joining the weekend was Hepeining Art, who travelled all the way from Halifax to showcase his work. His presence added another layer of creativity to an event where automotive design, photography, fashion and art naturally come together. “I’ve been drawing cars since I was 3 years old”, He says.

Giving Back: Cars With a Cause

Beyond the cars, the Cobble Beach Concours d’Elegance continues to support important causes. The event has raised more than $1.46 million for charity, with proceeds supporting the Sunnybrook Foundation and Brightshores Health System Owen Sound Foundation. This year, Cars & Coffee and the 50/50 draw are helping fund a new ultrasound unit at Brightshores, while Concours proceeds support Sunnybrook’s Impact Fund and its work in patient care and medical research.

Until Next Year

As always, the Cobble Beach Concours d’Elegance proved to be a memorable way to close out the outdoor car-event season, bringing together exceptional automobiles, beautiful Georgian Bay scenery, art, community and a meaningful cause. A special thank you to Rob McLeese and Jennelle Willis for their continued hospitality and for creating an event that celebrates not only automotive history, but the people and passions that keep it moving forward.
